Before I launched my cleaning company, I worked at a very prestigious art gallery in Manhattan for eleven years. At the gallery, we hired many different cleaning companies in search of one that could clean day in and day out in the required way. Unfortunately, our search was futile.
Seeing a need for our gallery to be clean and presentable, I started to do the cleaning myself, and a month later, I trained three people to continue the high standard of cleaning as required. I decided to offer the same services to the surrounding businesses. Six months later, I handed in my resignation and provided outstanding residential and commercial cleaning throughout the tri-state area and Westchester since 1998.
When we first started, all we had was a vacuum and a mop. But today, we have an armory of top-of-the-line cleaning equipment. Better yet, we are blessed with a staff that takes pride in a job well done, and also clients that appreciate a clean and safe space.
The most rewarding part of my business is when we get positive feedback for our work.
Teaching our cleaning teams is also very rewarding, as we are preparing a new generation of cleaners to take on all various cleaning projects with professionalism and precision.
To deliver high-quality cleaning services, we believe that communication is the key. It is also the first step to cleaning the right way. The best way to determine the right way to clean a client is to listen to what they are saying. The client will tell us what they want to be cleaned and how it should look. It is our job to listen and address every cleaning need or concern the client may have.
In addition to listening to the client, we also respect their privacy and their space. We are honest about the services we provide and make it a point to create a positive work environment.
Being professional and helping our clients thrive has helped us grow significantly and keep our family business roots. But, I believe the true force behind my success has been God. It may not be the popular thing to say, but it is the truth, so I will be proud to say it! All success that we have obtained in the cleaning business has been first through God’s help. The second source of our success is my dear wife, who would have been a doctor today, but decided to help me succeed in this venture.
We have had many satisfying moments in our cleaning business, but recently we have experienced the most meaningful success. During the height of the pandemic, many families and friends could not see or help each other in person due to government orders to remain at home to minimize the chance of COVID-19 infections.
As part of the essential services, we have been able to go in person to provide proper cleaning and disinfection for people who are alone as well as for the elderly, disabled, and people who have a mental illness.
Recently, we received a phone call from a client who lives out of state, and she hired us to clean her sister’s apartment while her sister was recovering from COVID-19. We cleaned and disinfected the apartment, and when the client’s sister saw her apartment, she wept with joy and joked that she thought she was in the wrong apartment. She was so happy with the results of the cleaning that she is recommending all her neighbors and friends to use GC Cleaning Services. This was a big deal for us because we managed to make several people happy during these trying times.
When I am not changing people’s lives by cleaning their homes and businesses, I love to engage in my hobbies. I have always loved everything to do with sports. I love competition and sports is a great way to do exercise without feeling like you’re working out. As a result, I regularly play sports during my free time after work.
